Letter to the Editor | Zion lights don’t work

July 3, 2014

I hope PennDOT got a heck of a deal on the three red lights installed on Route 550 and Zion Road near the Interstate 99-Buckaroo Lane intersections. Well after midnight on a recent evening with not another car in sight, the signal light at Buckaroo Lane turned red on cue, seconds after I had turned onto Zion Road from northbound I-99.

Adding this ridiculous piece of engineering to the constant delay to make a left turn from Route 550-Zion Road onto southbound I-99 (while no other cars are in sight) leads me to believe the system was either poorly designed, installed or programmed.
