American Legion baseball: Musser plates winning run in seventh, Bellefonte tops Clearfield

— Zach Musser’s infield single plated the game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning as Bellefonte topped Clearfield 6-5 in American Legion baseball action on Thursday.

In the tie game, Noah Perryman led of the seventh with a single and moved up to second on Zach Williams’ bunt single. After an out, Gehrig Schuster walked to load the bases and Musser followed with the game-winning hit.

Bellefonte had grabbed a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Ryan McElwee and Dan Roan had RBI singles and two more runs scored as Clearfield dropped a fly ball and made a throwing error on the same play.

Roan went the distance, allowing seven hits. He struck out seven and walked five. Perryman and Seth Weaver had two hits apiece. Sawyer Rowles had two singles for Clearfield.
