American Legion baseball: Bellefonte splits pair with DuBois

From CDT staff reportsJuly 6, 2014

— Bellefonte traded two-hit shutouts with DuBois on Sunday, winning the nightcap 8-0 after falling 7-0 in the opener, barely escaping a no-hitter.

The Bandits took control of the second game with a five-run third inning, keyed by a Taylor Smith two-run double, a Noah Perryman RBI double, an Anthony Montressor RBI single and a bases-loaded walk to Taylor Butts. Ryan McElwee pitched the complete-game win, striking out four and walking one while scattering a pair of singles.

In the opener, two DuBois pitchers had a no-hitter with two out in the seventh inning before a Smith single broke it up.
