— A two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon at the intersection of Benner Pike and Shiloh Road in State College sent both drivers to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Police said Dillon White, 17, of Bellefonte, and Joyce Bierly, 67, of Warriors Mark, sustained minor injuries. Neither vehicle had passengers.

The accident occurred at 3:55 p.m. Police said preliminary indications suggest that White, while distracted in his Hyundai Sonata as he drove east on Benner Pike, ran a red light.

He then collided with Bierly’s Suzuki Grand Vitara, which was traveling north on Shiloh, police said.

Bierly’s car left the road, knocked down a metal fence and stopped under a tree on the property of Shiloh Lutheran Church.
