From CDT staff reportsJuly 8, 2014

A 15-year-old boy was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing from the Uni-Mart at Cold Stream in Rush Township.

State police at Philipsburg say that the young man entered the store, placed four cans of Jacks Link’s Jerky snuff, two pairs of sunglasses and a pair of Pittsburgh Steelers gloves in his pockets and started to leave the store. When confronted by a customer and an employee, he gave back a pair of glasses and fled.

A trooper responding saw the boy walking up Presqueisle Street, but he fled when he noticed police, running up Fourth Street. He was found hiding behind a bush. All of the stolen items were found in his pocket.

Charges were filed for retail theft.
