MILLSTONE TWP. N.J. — Penn State’s Xander McDonald-Smith picked up another summer tournament victory.
The rising senior won the Metropolitan Golf Association’s Public Links Championship last week. He closed with a 5-under 67 and finished with a two-round total of 6-under 138. He won by five strokes over Connecticut’s Armando Olivieri on the South Course of Charleston Springs Golf Course in a competition for players from public courses from the New York City area.
McDonald-Smith also won the New York City Amateur as well as the amateur title at the Brooklyn Open Championship earlier this summer.
