Penn State women’s gymnastics: Molinaro added to Nittany Lions’ staff

From CDT staff reportsJuly 15, 2014

— The Penn State women’s gymnastics team added Kera Bolen Molinaro as a a volunteer assistant coach Tuesday.

Molinaro spent the last three seasons coaching at Rutgers, and before that she was a volunteer assistant at Oregon State. She also competed for the Beavers from 2006-09, helping the team to four straight NCAA appearances.

During her three seasons with the Scarlet Knights, she helped the program reach the NCAA regionals this past spring, their first NCAA appearance since 2007.

“We could not be happier to welcome Kera to the Penn State family,” head coach Jeff Thompson said. “Kera brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our program that can only help our student-athletes. As a former NCAA Division I gymnast and coach she brings a unique point of view that will aid our program as we continue moving forward toward our goal of winning a Big Ten Championship.”

The former Kera Bolen is a 2009 Oregon State graduate and is married to Frank Molinaro, a former Penn State All-American wrestler who is now an assistant wrestling coach at Rutgers.
