County League: Alterio leads Pleasant Gap past Blanchard

Devin Alterio’s two-run single in the eighth inning lifted Pleasant Gap to an 8-6 win over Blanchard on Thursday night.

The Bees went ahead 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-run single by Matt McGhee, who went 3-for-5, including a triple. But the Peppers answered with a run in the seventh to force extra innings.

Devin Alterio finished with two singles and a double, while Steven Alterio and Greg Reeder each had two hits for the Peppers.

Tyler James earned the win for Pleasant Gap.

Philipsburg 11, Lemont 5

Philipsburg scored 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to victory on Thursday night.

AJ Robinson went 2 for 3 with two doubles and drove in two runs for the Pirates. Tyler Yazujian finished 2 for 3 with a double and a triple for the Ducks.

Philipsburg finished with 12 hits.
