Two accused of burglary in Philipsburg

From CDT staff reportsJuly 17, 2014

Two Philipsburg men were jailed Wednesday, charged with burglary.

Russell Lauver, 24, and Babe Miller, 27, were found in an abandoned building at 208 E. Spruce St. around 1:30 p.m. after someone heard noises and contacted state police at Philipsburg.

Police said they searched the building and found the two inside without permission, attempting to steal scrap metal to recycle. The men were arrested before any of the metal was taken.

Centre Square Investment Trust is listed as the victim in the case.

Lauver and Miller were arraigned on burglary charges. They remain at Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail each.
