How to solve the Interstate 80 problem? Get rid of the pork-barrel Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. It’s loaded with political appointments and state representatives. Sell the castle (headquarters). Put the turnpike under PennDOT.
The savings could result in lower tolls and money for repairs. The gas tax collected from stations along I-80 would take care of it and other road projects.

Fan left out in the cold
I was pleased to learn that so many Penn State fans adapted to the freakish weather conditions and could park at Target and Walmart and proceed to Beaver Stadium by shuttle for the football game Saturday.
My situation was different. Arriving by 11 a.m. as directed, the pre-paid parking space I’ve had since 1989 was gone. My boundless Penn State spirit was stifled and my blue blood boiled because the stadium was inaccessible to my wheelchair. I could not attend. Someone dropped the ball on this one!
