Vinny Pezzimenti
- vpezzime@centredaily.comHead coach: Jason Bair (10th year)
Assistant coaches: Dan Walter
Last season: 9-10, lost to top-seeded Lewistown in first round of the District 6 Class AA playoffs
Key losses: Clint Cor-man, George Schall, Evan Gettig, Nathan Inglesby, Wes Milliron
Returning letterwinners: Brian Robinson (Sr.), Vaughn Holderman (Jr.), Cory Moore (Jr.), Shane Besong (Jr.)
Key newcomers: Josh Snyder (Sr.), Kyle Granite (Jr.), Kyle Frost (So.), Eric Henderson (Fr.)
The skinny: BEA will have to make up for the loss of 15 seniors to graduation. ... Robinson, who will anchor the midfield, and Snyder, a goalkeeper, are the only seniors expected to start. ... Bair plans on starting at least seven juniors, as well as Frost, who is new to soccer, and Henderson. ... Besong will anchor the defense. ...
Forward positions are up for grabs. ... Granite is also new to soccer.
Coach Bair says: “There’re so many new faces. Really there’s not going to be a scouting report on my team other than, ‘We know nothing about them.’ (Opponents) have never seen them, unless they did a little in JV last year. That’s how young this team is. We’ll surprise some teams but it just depends if we get intimidated.”
“We’re just going to have to take some lumps. Our goal is to work together this year and become a better soccer team than how we start the year.”
