Jena Matter was impressive for the Lady Red Raiders (15-2), recording eight kills and four blocks. Katy Clouser led Bellefonte with 16 kills, while Emily Putnam recorded 23 assists and Amber Hasletadded five aces.
Lady Eagles fall short
WINGATE — Bald Eagle won the first set but couldn’t hold the momentum in a 3-1 loss to Huntingdon on Tuesday.
Nicole Reese led the Eagles (12-5) in kills with 10, while Katlyn Miller added seven kills, Courtney Switzer had four digs and Kelsey Shaw added an ace.
Lady Rams spike Panthers
LEWISTOWN — Penns Valley won two of its three sets en route to a 3-1 victory over Lewistown on Tuesday.
The Lady Rams (7-10) were led by Maria Andrews’ 20 kills as Casey Packer and Megan Decker added nine and seven kills, respectively. Andrews also led Penns Valley with two blocks. Kendyl Paolini had 14 digs for the Lady Rams, asTaylor Poorman led the team with 21 assists.

YORK — State College’s Sarah Jackson fired an 83 Tuesday to move up three spots into 18th place after the second round of the PIAA Championships.
Jackie Calamaro of Radnor leads the field by four strokes after firing a second-round 76.
Shady Side Academy leads the team race with a two-day score of 707.

Mounties ousted from districts
RICHLAND — Philipsburg-Osceola finished its season with a 2-0 loss to Westmont-Hilltop in the District 6 Class AA tournament on Tuesday.
Kayla Vliet gave the No. 8 Hill-toppers a 1-0 lead at the 32:46 mark, while Julia Chessa scored an insurance goal 61 seconds later.
The ninth-seeded Lady Mounties finish their season at 8-10-1.
