The skinny: The Lady Mounties have big holes to fill with graduation losses of four girls who combined for 125 career goals and were the top four scorers last season. Among them, Kathryn Ritter is playing soccer at Elizabethtown and Kaylee Adams is running track at Slippery Rock. Both were first-team Mountain League all-stars. ... The back of the formation should be sound. The team bringing back four-year starting keeper Amanda Czar as well as defenders Liz Josephson, Nessa Brown, Alison Patrick, Ashley Wood and Kristen Kojadinovich. ... The midfield and forwards may take several weeks into the season to work out. ... Among the midfielders are Olivia Brown, Cherise Diehl and Marissa Albert. ... Kelsey Shaw and Anetta Czar figure to lead the offense, with some help from Wood and Patrick possibly moving forward. ... Roster is thin with just 16 girls.
Coach Good says: “We had some apprehension coming into the season after what we lost (to graduation), but we felt good after our scrimmage. They’re putting a lot of work into it and we should be able to compete with anybody in the league.”
