WINGATE — Katie Deardorff scored the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute as the Penns Valley girls’ soccer team slipped past Bald Eagle Area 2-1 Monday.

ST. MARYS — There was very little that was pleasant for Penns Valley as it traveled to St. Marys on Friday.

PHILIPSBURG — Penns Valley senior boys’ soccer player Evan Gover scored his school-record 33rd and 34th career goals during a two-minute span in the second half Wednesday night to lead the Rams past Philipsburg-Osceola 2-1.

SPRING MILLS — The Penns Valley girls’ volleyball team picked up a 25-14, 25-20, 25-15 win over Lewis-town on Tuesday.

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown's offense stared into the Mitchell Field end zone occupied with bleachers and fans three times.

Silks had a hand in every Penns Valley goal as the Rams notched two wins last week. Silks had two goals and an assist in a 3-0 triumph against Bald Eagle Area and had three assists in a 3-0 victory against Indian Valley.

BELLEVILLE — The Penns Valley boys’ soccer team dominated play in blanking Belleville Mennonite 3-0 Friday night in the Rams’ season opener.

SPRING MILLS — Penns Valley has plenty of seniors again.

The phrase has a nice ring considering what the Rams endured last fall. Let one of those seniors explain:

Alyson Lush and Hobart Kistler were the recipients of the James Snyder Award at Penns Valley Area High School on Saturday night. The award, sponsored by the Centre Daily Times, is given in memory of Snyder, a former CDT sports editor, who was killed in an automobile accident in December of 1957.
