closeSCHOLASTIC DIGEST Lady Little Lions hit milestone win
From CDT staff reports
MILL HALL —The State College girls' soccer team captured the 300th victory in the program's history, beating Central Mountain 4-1 Saturday night at a soggy Don Malinak Stadium.
“I didn’t tell the kids beforehand. I told them on the bus,” State College coach Kevin Morooney said of the milestone. “It’s a good sign of consistency over the years and the sign of a school district that invested in a girls’ soccer program early on.”
Kathleen Warner and Lauren Kenney each had a goal and an assist to lead the Lady Little Lions (7-1). Kelsey Gill and Jamie Glass also found the net with Kelsey Graham adding an assist.
Samantha Lofton assisted Jackie Rodabaugh for the lone goal for the Lady Wildcats (7-1). Sarah Sallade made two saves in the win.
