closeMIDDAY REPORT: A senior ball at Beaver Stadium; PSU athletes winners with new facilities; time for Dem tug-of-war to end?
LOOKS like Bellefonte students will have a senior ball to remember.
They're heading to Beaver Stadium Saturday for their big event to be held in the Mount Nittany Lounge, above the south end zone. The lodge serves as a private club during Penn State football games and offers THE view of Mount Nittany, as football fans know.
This was in the works for awhile by education teacher Rob Irwin, and Bellefonte students are pretty happy with the surprise.
"There are other kids from other classes who are begging seniors to take them,” class secretary Kristi Hartsock told reporter Dena Pauling for today's story. "... It’s a really popular location. Mr. Irwin really pulled this one for us. It’s just exciting that we are the first class that gets to do it in such a well-known place, and we have a lot of sports fans.”
She said about 200 students will attend.
State High held a senior ball at Beaver Stadium a few years ago. Bellefonte now gets a chance at the special place.
This tops the midday report on a beautiful Happy Valley Wednesday. Thanks for joining us.
