Centre County Story Chapter 5 Author

Elaine Williams, who wrote Chapter 2 of last year’s Centre County Story, penned the final chapter of this year’s story as well.

A State High graduate, Williams grew up in State College and graduated from Penn State in business administration, majoring in insurance.

With the exception of a brief period right after college when she worked for an insurance agency in Atlantic City, N.J. Williams has worked locally for a company first founded by her parents in 1955.

She taught insurance courses to undergraduates for 18 years at Penn State and South Hills School of Business & Technology. She currently works for First Affiliated Insurance Group.

Williams says she continues to work on her writing, pursuing a dream of writing novels for the romance and inspirational genres.

She has several projects under way and expects to complete a novel by year’s end. “I do warn people around me to watch what they say because they could end up in my book,” she said. “I’ve been very excited about writing.”
