The Centre County United Way board has approved allocation of $1.56 million raised in the fall campaign among its 40 member agencies.
An additional $182,360.19 will be distributed to a selection of non-member service agencies, for a total distribution of about $1.75 million.
That’s more than the $1.43 million the agency was able to distribute in 2008.
As a result, the allocations for most member agencies either held steady or increased slightly.
The specific amounts given to the individual agencies are decided by volunteers, who visit each member agency to evaluate its programs and services and review its funding requests, then make a recommendation to the board of directors.
The following is the 2009 distribution, with the amount each agency received in 2008 noted in parentheses.
An asterisk indicates a newly admitted partner agency that will be eligible for full funding in 2010, but this year is eligible only to receive funds designated by donors specifically for that agency.
