closeThe Lemont Haunted Granary and Halloween Bash was an entertainment success. We thank all of the volunteers who worked in the rain on Friday and the patrons who stood in lines a block long on Saturday. People loved the Halloween music and hundreds clapped and cheered as “Thriller” dancers performed their routine and then terrorized the crowd.
We thank Forever Broadcasting for our radio ad; Ken Reese, of Sonic Sound Technology, for music and dance lighting; Heidi Reese for amazing haunt scenes; Tim Packer for food service; and Jenny Trippett for posters, the shirt design and a Web site.
We thank our tolerant neighbors, College Township, State College police and more than 100 students and 50 adults who spent months working to make this event happen.
As new management, we thank all of our sponsors and reassure them of how much we appreciate their help. We realize that small businesses are struggling and found that many seemed to feel guilty that they were unable to donate as much as they had in the past. For us, this year’s event was not about money but about providing a fun night for families, experimenting with a few new event concepts and learning how to run an event like this.
Please see our Web site, www.hauntedgranary.com, for a complete list of our generous sponsors and to see pictures of this year’s event. Please consider volunteering now for next year. Contact Karen Trippett at 237-7018 or email karen@hauntedgranary.com. Karen Trippett, Lemont
