Steve Forsburg, right, of Philipsburg, received a first-degree black belt as a member of the World Tang Soo Do Association on Oct. 24. The Black Belt Promotion Ceremony was held in the Poconos at the annual regional championship. Shown with Forsburg is his instructor, Master David Josefik, founder and chief instructor of D.J. Studios Karate. Forsburg has been training at D.J. Studios for the past four years. He also is an assistant instructor who works specifically with the youth of the school and is a regular volunteer at all of the community events that the studio participates in.
