closeMorgan Beard,a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School, performed in the University of Pittsburgh Dance Ensemble production of “Revealed” on Oct. 29-30. She worked backstage and assisted dancers in their performances.
Beard is a graduate of Kennedy Dance Center in Bellefonte. She also was active as a member of the Lady Raider School Soccer Team and participated as a class officer for Bellefonte Area High School’s 2007 graduating class.
The central Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association, with the Penn State School of Music, presented its annualDorothy Sutton Performance Festival on Oct. 11 at Penn State. Each piano student performed two pieces from memory and were judged by pianists Hyun Ju Curtin and David Curtin. Twenty-five of the students were rated “Superior” and are eligible to perform on a Showcase Recital sponsored by the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association at Slippery Rock University on Nov. 8. The event was organized by Theresa Smith. CPMTA and PMTA are affiliates of the Music Teachers National Association.
Students involved were: Garrick Zheng, Dorothy Tan, Aaron Li, Emily Wang, Autumn Gooseff, Alinda Cheung, Caroline Shen, Yifan Lu, Terrence Li, Silu Shen, William Huang, Aaron Cheung, Connor Cai, Eilene Deng, Bram Nealon, Ryan Lidgett, Jasmine Cao, Joseph Feffer, LeAnn Verica, Jay Deng, Jeffrey Huan, Vince Liu, Jessica Ding, Jane Li, Sicong Shen, Fredrick Zheng, Jeffrey Cao, Maria Verica, Isabella Teti, Kevin Liang, Tyra Pitts, Ysabelle Coutu, Mahima Kumara, Miranda Chen, Danielle Feffer, Lear Du, Sarah Chang and David Liu.
