Theft A student reported the theft of her wallet and contents from her backpack from South Chambers Building. The theft occurred between 1220 hours and 1310 hours, today. Investigation by PSO Clouse.

Vehicle Crash (Hit and Run)

A staff member reported an unknown vehicle struck and damaged a University owned vehicle while it was parked at the Thomas Building. The vehicle crash occurred between 0715 hours and 1015 hours, today. Damage was light to the vehicle and no injuries were reported. Investigation by PSO Jones.

Health and Safety

University Police assisted the University Ambulance Service with a student who was having a medical emergency at Waring Commons. The student was transported by University Ambulance Service to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. Investigation by PSO Clouse.

Harassment

A student reported an unknown person(s) wrote an unwanted message on a dry erase board on her residence hall room door at McKean Hall. Investigation by PSO Jones.

Theft

A student reported the theft of his secured bicycle from a bicycle rack at Beaver Hall. The theft occurred between 1700 hours, 10 October 2009 and 0800 hours, 12 October 2009. Value of the theft is $75.00. Investigation by PSO Rider.

Outside Agency Assist

Sgt. McCellan reported she assisted the Patton Township Police Department with an investigation.

A student reported an unknown vehicle struck and damaged her privately owned vehicle while it was parked in Lot 81 near Beaver Hall. The vehicle crash occurred between 2200 hours, 9 October 2009 and 1731 hours, today. Damage was light to the vehicle and no injuries were reported. Investigation by PSO Thomas.

Harassment

A student reported an unknown person(s) wrote an unwanted message on a dry erase board at his residence hall room at Nelson Hall. Investigation by PSO Townsend.

Health and Safety

University Police Personnel assisted the University Ambulance Service with a student who was having a medical emergency at Curry Hall. The student was evaluated and refused further medical treatment. Investigation by PSO Aiken.

Attempt to Locate

PSO Aiken reported she assisted a visitor attempting to contact a student at Beam Hall. The student was located at an off campus location.

Community Relations

PSO Rider reported he conducted an alcohol awareness program at Lyons Hall. There were 35 students in attendance.

Health and Safety

Centre County 911 reported a female student had injured her leg at White Building. She was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by University Ambulance for treatment. Investigation by PSO Townsend.

Health and Safety/Minors Law

A Resident Assistant at Hartranft Hall reported a female student suffering from an alcohol overdose. The student, who had consumed beverage alcohol while being less than twenty-one years of age, was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by University Ambulance for treatment. Investigation by PSO Torres.

Drug Law Violation

Three students were apprehended near the Arboretum Overlook Pavilion that were in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They were identified and released. Investigation by PSO Miller.

PSO Rodgers filed criminal charges at Magisterial District Judge Jonathan D. Grine’s office against Brian K. Byrd, 2108 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA. Byrd was charged with the Controlled Substance Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act for possession of a small amount of marijuana. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 19 September 2009 at Pinchot Hall, University Park, PA.

PSO Miller filed criminal charges at Magisterial District Leslie A. Dutchcot’s office against Clifford M. Rupert, 274 Hylbert Road, Boalsburg, PA. Rupert was charged with the Controlled Substance Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act, for possession of drug paraphernalia. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 2 October 2009 in Parking Lot#9, by the Intramural Building, University Park, PA.

PSO Cover filed criminal charges at Magisterial District Judge Jonathan D. Grine’s office against Mark D. Crum, 600 Goucher Street, Johnstown, PA. Crum was charged with the Controlled Substance Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act for possession of a small amount of marijuana. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 2 October 2009 in Parking Lot#82, by Brumbaugh Hall, University Park, PA.

Driving under the Influence

Sgt. McClellan filed criminal charges at Magisterial District Judge Jonathan D. Grine’s office against Shane R. Leary, 501 Vairo Blvd., Apartment 731C, State College, PA. Leary was charged Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance and a summary traffic violation. The charges stem from an incident which occurred on 8 October 2009 on Bigler Road at Park Avenue, University Park, PA.

PSO Cover filed criminal charges at Magisterial District Judge Leslie A. Dutchcot’s office against Evan H. Burke, 11 Victoria Place, Princeton, NJ. Burke was charged with the Controlled Substance Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act for possession of a small amount of marijuana. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 10 October 2009 by Snyder Hall, University Park, PA.

Minor’s Law Violation

PSO Baker filed a non-traffic citation at Magisterial District Judge Jonathan D. Grine’s office against Eugene J. Rose, 1024 Birch Road, Warminster, PA. Rose was charged with Minor’s Law. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 11 October 2009 at Stuart Hall, University Park, PA.

Theft of Services

Det. Grego served an Arrest Warrant for Theft of Services to Jonathan M. Harris, no known local address. Harris is currently incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility. Harris was video arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Leslie A. Dutchcot on a Misdemeanor charge of Theft of Services. Magisterial Judge Dutchcot set bail at $25,000.00 straight. Harris remained incarcerated in the Centre County Correctional Facility. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for 21 October 2009 at the Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte, PA.

PSO Ball filed a non-traffic citation at Magisterial District Judge Jonathan D. Grine’s office against Max S. Wendkos, 1022 Morse Drive, Maple Glen, PA. Wendkos was charged with Theft of Services, for displaying Penn State Parking Permit which was not issued to him. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 13 October 2009 in Green “L” Parking Lot, University Park, PA.
