Vehicle Crash

At 0823 hours, a staff member reported a privately owned vehicle struck and damaged a street sign on Pollock Road near the Grange Building. No injuries resulted and damage was light. Investigation by PSO Ciambotti.

Suspicious Activity

At 0843 hours, a staff member reported an unknown male was attempting to gain access to several lockers at the White Building. A search of the area revealed the male had fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigation by PSO Ciambotti.

Outside Agency Assist

At 0943 hours, PSO Hoffman reported he assisted the State College Police Department with an investigation at Beaver Stadium. Two students and two visitors were issued citations during the Penn State vs Minnesota Football game on 17 October 2009.

Students Maarten Levert, 904 Shiloh Hill Drive, West Chester, PA and Christopher Pelczar, 103 Southfield Road, Calverton, NY and visitor Kyle M. Mcclinton, 5136 Owls Nest Road, Marion, NY were each issued one citation for Disorderly Conduct and released. Visitor Richard M. Trowbridge, 1330 Morgan Avenue, Williamsport, PA was issued one citation for Public Drunkenness and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.

Departmental Information

At 1018 hours, a student reported a suspicious male at Ikenberry Hall on 18 October 2009. Investigation by Detective Brooks.

Theft

At 1030 hours, a student reported theft of personal items from an unsecured locker at the White Building. The theft occurred between 0630 hours and 0830 hours, today. The items were located along Porter Road a short time later. Investigation by PSO Peters.

Theft

At 1124 hours, a staff member reported the theft of his secured bicycle at Sackett Building. The theft occurred between 0900 hours, 21 October 2009 and 0900 hours today. Value of the theft $250.00. Investigation by PSO Peters.

Health and Safety

At 1135 hours, University Police personnel assisted the University Ambulance Service with a student who was having a medical emergency at Atherton Hall. The student was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by University Ambulance Service for treatment. Investigation by PSO White.

At 1252 hours, University Police personnel assisted the University Ambulance Service with a student who was having a medical emergency at Waring Commons. The student was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by University Ambulance Service for treatment. Investigation by Sgt Tilden.

Departmental Information

At 1302 hours, Detective Olson reported this department had received information about suspicious activity from the Pennsylvania State Police.

At 1535 hours, a Pattee Library staff member reported two persons may have attempted to circumvent the materials check out procedure. Investigation by PSO Ciambotti.

Disorderly Conduct

At 1604 hours, a University Park Airport staff member reported another staff member had engaged him in a verbal argument. The incident occurred at approximately 1600 hours, today. Investigation by PSO White.

Health and Safety

At 1707 hours, personnel from University Police assisted University Ambulance Service staff at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center with a student who suffered a medical emergency. The student was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center. Investigation by PSO Ciambotti.

Community Relations

At 1808 hours, PSO Townsend presented a Safety Program at the Hub Robeson Cultural Center.

Theft

At 2316 hours, a staff member reported a bag was removed from his vehicle parked at the Flower Garden Rugby Field between 1715 hours and 2115 hours, today. Total loss is $1500.00. Investigation by PSO Townsend.

Drug Law

At 0039 hours, PSO Miller apprehended three female students near Snyder Hall that were in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Criminal Mischief

At 0104 hours, a Residence Life Coordinator reported unknown person/s caused damage in the 5th floor restroom at Packer Hall. No damage estimate is available. Investigation by PSO Rider.

Minors Law

At 0116 hours, a visitor reported a student suffering from an alcohol overdose on a CATA bus near Pattee Library. Janet Lynn Harris, 26 Deer Path Road, Doylestown, PA was found to have consumed beverage alcohol while being less than twenty-one years of age. She was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment by University Ambulance. Investigation by PSO Triveri.

At 0134 hours, Centre County 911 reported a male student suffering from a medical emergency near Findlay Commons. The student was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment by Centre LifeLink EMS. Investigation by PSO Thomas.

Public Drunkenness

At 0208 hours, PSO Rider apprehended a male student near the Allen Street Gates that had consumed beverage alcohol to the degree that he could not care for himself. Jeffrey Homza, 36 West Walnut Street, Kingston, PA was issued one citation for Public Drunkenness and released to a friend.

Rules and Regulations

At 0243 hours, a student at Tener Hall reported people smoking in a non-designated area outside Tener Hall. The actors had fled the area prior to officers arrival. Investigation by PSO Townsend.

False Identification to Law Enforcement/Minor’s Law Violation

Lt. Delaney filed criminal charges in the office of Magisterial District Judge Leslie Dutchcot against Katelyn Meredith Carpenter, 99 Laurel Lane, Palmyra, PA. Carpenter was charged with False Identification to Law Enforcement and Minor’s Law Violation. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on 9/26/09 in Lot 12 of Beaver Stadium.

Public Drunkenness

Lt. Delaney filed a non-traffic citation in the office of Magisterial District Judge Leslie Dutchcot against Jeremy Ervin, RD 2 Box 261-F, Ulster, PA. Ervin was cited for Public Drunkenness for an incident that occurred on 09/26/09 at Animal Diagnostics Lab.
