The trio — Steve Patrick of New Cumberland, Josie Farinelli of New Kensington, and Ryan Kramer of Maryland — made their video as part of their honors-level English class. In addition to public voting, a panel of celebrities, including "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane and Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, will cast their votes.
Patrick said their professor, Diana Gruendler, challenged them to get out a message about health care. They had several options, Patrick said, and his group chose to enter the contest.
If they win, their video, "College Students Support Health Care Reform," will become a national ad. They will also be featured on the president's Web site. Voting on the top 20 videos opened today. Winners will be announced Nov. 7.
