MidPenn Legal Services paralegalKathy J. Parkswas recently honored with a Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Excellence Award.
The Huntingdon County native has been assisting MidPenn attorneys and clients for 31 years. The 2009 Excellence Awards were presented at the annual awards dinner at the Harrisburg Hilton.
Centre County attorney Amos Goodallspoke recently at two seminars sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
Goodall’s topic was “Use of Disclaimer Trusts in Estate Planning,” and he participated in a panel discussion on a number of topics related to the use of trusts in estate practice, including revocable living trusts.
REHABILITATION
Phoenix Rehabilitation and Health Services Inc. has expanded its hours of operation and hired a second physical therapist,Jessica L. Watson,at its outpatient clinic in the American Philatelic Center at 196 Match Factory Place in Bellefonte.
A graduate of Misericordia University, Watson is a licensed physical therapist who earned her master’s degree in physical therapy in 2008.
Phoenix provides physical, occupational and massage therapies along with industrial rehabilitation.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. James Walker,Geisinger Health System’s chief health information officer, was appointed recently to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Information Technology Standards Committee.
The committee is charged with making recommendations to the national coordinator on standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use of health information.
