closeArchitects lauded for school project
The Pennsylvania/Delaware Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognized ELA Group Inc., with offices in Lititz and State College, in the category of general design at its 2009 Professional Awards Program on May 3.
The award was presented for the “New Lititz Elementary School Project” and is the third award that ELA has received for the project.
The school, completed in 2005, involved the evaluation and redesign of two parcels in the heart of Lititz, requiring design concepts to meet the school district’s needs and maximize the two parcels of land.

Giant Foods lowers prices
Giant Food Stores rolled out lower prices last week on more than 5,000 items from produce to diapers.
The stores will use red signs on shelves to highlight the price changes.

In a press release, Sander van der Laan, president of Ahold, the Giant Foods parent company, said the company was committed to being a “low price leader.”
“This isn’t the first time we have lowered a significant number of prices and we will continue to offer the broadest selection, highest quality and most competitive prices to our customers,” he said.
