The Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society recently inducted Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli, of State College, as its president.

In addition to providing member education and promoting musculoskeletal health awareness, the society serves as a patient and physician advocate in the state.

Sebastianelli is Penn State director of athletic medicine; head team physician for Penn State athletics; and a professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation at Penn State. He has been named principal reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

The Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society is a professional medical specialty organization representing more than 900 orthopaedic surgeons across the state.

Insurance

The Hartman Group has announced the addition of Sam Haldemanto its State College office as a commercial insurance account executive.

Haldeman holds undergraduate and MBA degrees from Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology and Smeal College of Business, respectively. He is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent and will be responsible for consulting with businesses in the Centre County area.

The Hartman Group is a commercial insurance, employee benefits, and financial services firm with offices in State College, Williamsport and Duncannon.

Organizations

Charlene A. Friedman,CFO of Friedman Real Estate Group in State College, was recently sworn in to serve on the Governor’s Early Learning Investment Commission.

The goal of the commission, consisting of 50 business executives from across the state, is to secure public investment in early learning by focusing on practices that are educationally, economically and scientifically sound by increasing business, civic and public awareness of the importance of early childhood education.
