A new book “Fair Value Measurements: Valuation Principles and Auditing Techniques,” was co-authored by a Penn State Smeal College of Business professor.

J. Edward Ketz, an associate professor of accounting, and Mark Zyla wrote the book to explain a recent statement by the Financial Accounting Standards Board regarding fair value measurements and clarifies how to use fair values in financial reporting.

Health care

Chrissy Francis has recently joined the staff of Lock Haven Hospital and the Extended Care Unit as a speech therapist in the physical therapy department.

She has more than 14 years of speech therapy experience, including providing therapy to patients of skilled nursing facilities, in home-care environments and on an outpatient basis.

Real estate

Sharon Hall, with Coldwell Banker University Realty, has fulfilled the requirements for the accredited buyer representative designation.

The designation is a benchmark of excellence in buyer representation given to real estate practitioners who meet educational and practical criteria.

Engineering

Amy J. Houser, of Boalsburg, has accepted a full-time position with PennTerra Engineering Inc. in the human resource/marketing department.

Houser has an associate’s degree in business management and more than seven years experience with employee benefits and administrative work.
