Sentry is Recognized in “Test and Measurement” Category
LOS ANGELES — Mixed Signals, the leading provider of digital content monitoring solutions, today announced that its flagship product Sentry® is a finalist in the TelcoTV 2009 Vision Awards’ “Test and Measurement” category. Winners will be announced this week at the TelcoTV 2009 tradeshow on Wednesday, November 11.
Mixed Signals’ Sentry is a content monitoring solution that enables cable operators, satellite providers and telecom carriers to catch and eliminate video and audio errors in the TV services they deliver, thus ensuring that viewers enjoy an exceptional quality of experience (QoE). Sentry was recognized in large part for its new Audio and Video QoE Scoring System, which allows service providers to accurately determine the severity of video and audio glitches as they occur and how much these errors affect viewers’ QoE.
This is the latest accolade for Sentry, which has won several prestigious industry awards, including most recently a 4 Diamond ranking in the Broadband Gear Report’s annual Diamond Technology Reviews.
“Reaching the finals in this award program is another clear indicator that industry experts recognize the advancements we’re making in content monitoring, in particular our new groundbreaking Audio and Video QoE Scoring System and audio volume monitoring,” said Eric Conley, CEO of Mixed Signals. “Video service providers are aggressively rolling out high definition TV, video-on-demand and other advanced services to attract and retain subscribers. This increases network complexity and the likelihood of video and audio errors degrade the viewing experience. We are continually adding new features and capabilities to Sentry that enable video service providers to deliver these services with the best possible quality while reducing operating expenses.”
Sentry’s Audio and Video QoE Scoring System takes into account human visual and auditory responses to gauge a subscriber’s frustration level over video and audio impairments. The real-time, 24/7 system detects, tracks and reports serious video errors, such as video tiling, black and frozen screen, simultaneously in literally hundreds of compressed HD and SD programs. This unparalleled analysis allows service providers to determine the errors that require immediate attention to preserve subscriber satisfaction.
