Before she plays Live @5 on 98.7 The Freq on July 8, Hannah Bingman answered five Weekender questions.
Q: How long have you been playing?
A: I’ve been playing guitar for 19 years. I started playing gigs 16 years ago.
Q: How do you describe your sound?
Never miss a local story.
A: The other day a fellow musician introduced me to an acquaintance as “a real deal folksinger.” You probably add in a touch of anything you’d categorize as “roots.”
Q: Which musician — alive or dead — do you most wish you could share the stage with?
A: A tie between Woody Guthrie and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Q: What’s your favorite song to play live?
A: I have a newer song called “White Blaze” that’s real fun.
Q: Where can people hear your music?
A: After Live@5 July 8 I’ll be at Webster’s Bookstore with the Dilly Beans at 7 p.m. July 9 I’ll be at Chumley’s at 8 p.m. I’m online at hannahbingman .com, Facebook, SoundCloud, etc.
