Under the moonlight
on a warm summer night,
our two hearts became one
as we held each other tight.
We sat side by side
watching the fireflies put on a display,
and yet all I could think about was you
during our private soiree.
The summer days grew longer
but the nights went so fast,
if only we had a time machine
so those moments forever would last.
In the distance we heard a bullfrog
as he sang to his mate,
the crickets where chirping
the time was growing late.
We watched lightning on the horizon
from a distant thunder storm,
the air grew chilly
so we cuddled to keep warm.
There was no need for a bonfire
for now are two hearts beat as one,
our two souls have united
both fueled by the power of our love.
