As fathers, we all grapple with various issues. Personally, I don’t have enough space in this 250-word format to list all the things I think about and struggle with as a dad. On top of this, the unfortunate truth is that, as a group, dads are not good at talking with each other and sharing their concerns and worries.
Frankly, fathers could benefit from discussing with other dads the high and lows, the challenges and victories they’re experiencing.
Consider using this Father’s Day as a prompt to reach out to other dads — to encourage them and be encouraged — in your journey as fathers.
Consider joining local dads (sponsored by Centre County Fathering) Wednesday for a morning rap session.
Fathers can RSVP at centre fathering.org or just show up.
This will be an informal conversation, to connect, share tips and pick each other’s brains about fathering. Free coffee and donuts will be provided.
Remember that any efforts you make to improve your fathering, whether by reading, looking on the Internet or talking to others, will not only benefit your kids — but it will benefit you.
