“Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap steadfast love, break up your fallow ground — for it is time to seek The Lord so that He might come and reign righteousness around you.” Hosea 10:12
I look at this wonderful scripture and I think of how important it is for the farmers to prepare their soil for whatever they are going to plant, so the seeds that they plant will grow.
I believe this scripture is speaking so clearly to us, too, telling us to prepare ourselves to receive God’s word and then to help it grow in us through prayer, bible study, worship, spiritual meditation and opening ourselves to the Holy Spirit.
It is such an honor to be able to serve the Lord and to bring his word to his people. As you read the scripture fron Hosea — read it over and over — take time to think what it is saying to you, and watch how reading the scriptures and studying the word brings its meaning clear to you. God will grow in you as you are filled with the Holy Spirit and everyone around you will see the light of the Holy Spirit shining in you.
You will plant seeds wherever you go and, although you may not see how they grow, you can rest assured that the Lord will love, nourish and grow those seeds that you plant.
Our faith is the heart of our Christian life, and in our faith and belief in our gracious God, we receive eternal life.
We receive forgiveness of sins, and we enjoy a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Invite the Holy Spirit into your life and your heart and share your beliefs with others.
Our faith can sometimes waiver if we apply human thinking to our thoughts and concerns. Sometimes God may ask us to do something with which human reasoning disagrees; read Isaiah 55:9. Our faith might also waiver when we allow our feelings to overcome our faith. That could be a sense of unworthiness or a feeling of being inadequate, and that can trip us up.
We may waiver sometimes when we fail to see God in our circumstances. Doubts may creep in when we feel that God is not hearing our prayers — but he is. Maybe we just do not take the time to listen to him speaking to our hearts.
Our faith is so important to our life with our Lord and savior, and guilt could make us waiver in our faith. Guilt comes perhaps because of our sins — past or present — and we cannot operate with true faith if we are full of guilt. The Lord will forgive when we go to him in belief and love. Take everything to the Lord in prayer. He will forgive true repentance.
The enemy tries the best to influence us and take our faith away and to take away God’s promise and truth.
Stay in the truth and faith and be certain of the love and guidance of him. Be sure of what you hope for and certain of what you cannot see but what you know is true faith. Stay in the faith. (Hebrews 11:1)
What is the state of your faith? May the Lord be with as he helps you to plant the seeds of his love and goodness.
Go plant the seeds for others to grow with God’s love, and make disciples for Jesus Christ. May God bless you on your journey.
