Ice skating and hockey
Head out to the Village Ice Rink at Blue Spring Park, 230 Wagner Street, Boalsburg, for outdoor skating activities. Hockey-only times are Mondays and Thursdays from 3-5:30 p.m. Visit www.crpr.org/Parks/Winter/SSS-Fun.html to make sure the rink is open.
Muck N Mess
Dive right in to the squishy, splashy, mucky and messy projects that kids love. The activities embrace a child’s delight in tactile experiences of finger painting, planting and food fun. Children should be dressed for a mess and have a smock (an old shirt of mom or dad). Thursdays through Feb. 19 from 10-11 a.m. in the State College Borough community room. $44 for residents/$66 for nonresidents.
Never miss a local story.
Girls ages 5-8, along with their mothers or grandmothers, are invited to attend this tea. The event includes a tea party, craft project, photo station and treats. Dress in your finest tea party clothing. Gloves, hats and boas are encouraged. Feb. 7 from 1-3 p.m. in the COG Building Forum Room, 2643 Gateway Drive, State College.
Municipal Band Concert
Conductor Ned Deihl and 75 volunteer band members perform a free concert at the State College Area High School South auditorium. Admission is free, but donations are accepted at the door. Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.
This program is an introduction to knitting for ages 7-10. Participants learn how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl stitches as well as types of yarn, gauge and reading labels. Wednesdays through Feb. 18 from 4-5 p.m. at the COG Building Forum Room. $30 for residents/$45 for nonresidents.
