35th annual Black Moshannon race and walk
The annual 5K/10K and fun walk will be held May 23 at Black Moshannon State Park. Race begins at 10 a.m. and proceeds support the YMCA of Centre County.

Bellefonte preschool T-ball
This instructional, noncompetitive coed league is designed to introduce children ages 3-5 to the basics of baseball. Teams will meet Saturday mornings at Governor’s Park for half an hour of practice and instruction followed by half an hour of play. Players will receive a T-shirt and hat, but will need to provide their own glove. Teams will meet for six Saturdays, with a one-day weather make-up. The end-of-season picnic and awards party will be held on the day after the final games. The season begins May 2 at 10 a.m. at the upper field at Governor’s Park, Bellefonte. Red Cross lifeguarding program
Lifeguard candidates will receive Red Cross training in CPR, first aid and AED (defibrillator) usage on May 11 at 4 p.m. Participants will receive an email the week before the class begins, as times and locations may be altered. Open house for summer day camps will be held May 13, from 6-8 p.m. Camps run from June 4 through Aug. 21, with a talent show on Aug. 20. Applications are available at the YMCA or online. Field trip destinations include DelGrosso’s, Lakemont Park, Little League World Series site, Black Moshannon State Park,Osceola Mills Pool, Weis Markets, County Market, Heritage Days, State College YMCA, Reptiland and Ag Progress Days.
