COMMUNITY ACHIEVERS

Two local students were recognized duringJuniata College’sannual Spring Awards Convocation in May.

Callandra J. McCool,a daughter of Curtis and Pamela McCool, of Spring Mills, was selected to receive second place for the John M. and Thomas F. Bailey Oratorical Award. She is a 2007 graduate of Penns Valley Area Senior High School.

Nicholas Edward Reiter,a son of Edward Reiter Jr. and Marian Sidorick, of West Decatur, was selected to receive the Rockwell Chemistry Prize. The chemistry faculty gives this award to the senior chemistry student who has excelled in the subject and has contributed to the success of both the chemistry program and general campus life. He is a 2005 graduate of Phillips-burg- Osceola Area High School.
