Sgt. Michael Virga of the Hamilton Township Police Department in New Jersey was on patrol near Atlantic City airport on December 2 when his dashcam caught this fireball streaking across the sky. The department released the video on December 7. The American Meteor Society recorded 133 reports of the fireball on that night from several states, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The site’s director, Mike Hankey, told local media it was “most likely a cometary fireball.”
New Hanover County Sheriff Ed McMahon said at a Monday press conference that an arrest had been made in the largest seizure of heroin and fentanyl in county history. Deputies said in a Facebook post that they found the drugs during a Nov. 30 search of Shawqui Rahim Gray’s home on Oleander Drive in Wilmington. More arrests are expected.

As the 75-foot tall, 12-plus ton Norway spruce decorated with 50,000 multicolored LED lights came to life, the traditional Christmas carol, "Joy to the World" blared as the crowd cheered. The 85th annual ceremony was televised by NBC.
Several cows appeared to be dead after falling from a highway overpass during a truck crash in Riverdale, Utah, on Wednesday, November 22. The crash was at the I-15 and I-84 interchange. Many cows were seen wandering on the highway and on the side of the road.
Veteran journalist Charlie Rose has been accused of unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate behavior by eight women. In a Washington Post report, three women accused Rose of groping them, walking naked in front of them and relating an erotic dream. PBS has halted distribution of Rose's interview program and CBS News has suspended him.

The Windsor Locks Police Department in Connecticut is looking for a man they say was dropped off at a Shell gas station before he carjacked another vehicle there on Nov. 6, 2017. The victim saw the man get into her car and ran from the store to try to stop him. She was dragged 15 feet by the car before she lost her grip on the driver's door.
