The Penn State Alumni Association has honored U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson with the eighth annual “Friend of Penn State” legislative award.
The group recognized Thompson’s support, particularly for the College of Agricultural Sciences, and his advocacy for state agriculture.
“I am very humbled and proud to receive this award,” Thompson, R-Howard Township, said in a statement Tuesday.
He praised the work of researchers, faculty and students, and noted the university’s contributions to the state.
Never miss a local story.
“The commonwealth of Pennsylvania is blessed to have such a world-class research institution. Penn State is consistently delivering new technical and scientific innovations,” Thompson, a Penn State alumnus, said.
