Penn State great Franco Harris is headlining a peaceful protest during next week’s university board of trustees meeting on campus.
The event, called “March for Truth” by organizers Eileen Morgan and Ray Blehar, will be at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. The march will happen during the board’s meeting, which is scheduled for 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. the same day.
The organizers say they want the board to know that people in the Penn State community want justice for Joe Paterno, who was fired almost two years ago when the Jerry Sandusky case was made public. Paterno’s legendary reputation took hits in the Freeh report, when the NCAA handed down the sanctions and when the university removed the Paterno statue outside Beaver Stadium last summer.
