The developer who seeks to demolish the historic Garman Theatre property in Bellefonte and turn it into workforce housing is offering a walking tour of the fire-damaged interior Friday.
Ara Kervandjian, who has said that saving the theater’s brick facade would be too expensive and has requested a demolition order from the borough, is allowing local officials and residents to see the theater’s condition. The tour starts at 10 a.m., and participants must sign a waiver of liability. Dust masks and flashlights are recommended.
The theater was damaged in September 2012 fire that destroyed the adjacent Hotel Do De.
