The Potters Guild in Lemont is holding its third annual exhibit and sale this weekend to showcase the work of its members and to raise money to buy a new kiln.
Organization secretary Christine Stangel said the group has a kiln from the 1970s, and while it’s still in working condition, it’s showing its “wear and tear,” Stangel said.
The group is still researching the kind of kiln needed and determining a cost, Stangel said.
The Potters Guild is an affiliate of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania, started in 1971 through a small group headed by Shirley Siegenthaler, Stangel said.
The group has 34 members and is housed in the basement of the Art Alliance Education building.
