Two men were sentenced to jail Tuesday for breaking into State College apartments during State Patty’s Day this year and stealing cash and belongings.
President Judge Thomas Kistler gave Jesse Hribar, 23, and Andrew Ronczka, 22, both from Monaca, 111/2 to 231/2 months in a county prison followed by two years of probation for burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary and criminal trespass, all felonies.
They were convicted for entering at least 19 apartments in the Meridian II and University Towers complexes on March 1 and taking money, electronics, jewelry, watches and text books. After calls from victims, police reviewed surveillance videos that showed the men walking around the complexes, checking apartment doors and entering any that were unlocked.
Both defendants said alcohol contributed to their crimes and asked the court to take that into consideration when sentencing.
