A Clearfield County firm is facing a large judgment in Centre County.
On Monday, Centre County Prothonotary Debra Immel signed off on a $148,826.47 judgment against Kephart Trucking Co., previously of Bigler. Also named in the judgment are owners Timothy and David Kephart.
The money is owed to Comdata Network Inc., of Brentwood, Tenn. The judgment had previously been filed with the court in Clearfield County, where the company was headquartered. Timothy Kephart, of Morrisdale, is also a Clearfield County resident.
The judgment was also being recorded in Centre County because court documents show that David Kephart’s last known address was in Port Matilda.
The Kepharts are being sued by the U.S. Department of Labor to recover money withheld from employee paychecks but not distributed to pension funds. Last year, Timothy Kephart was sentenced to 46 months in jail for a $3.6 million check-kiting scheme in his role as CEO of Dart Trucking in Ohio.
