A Philipsburg man escaped injury Friday after losing control of his car in Rush Township.
State police at Philipsburg said Douglas Harpster, 44, was driving on state Route 504 when he encountered a wet patch of roadway while driving around a curve. His 2010 Chevrolet Suburban crossed the opposite lane, left the road and struck a tree, police said.
After the impact, the car continued along an embankment, traveling about 40 feet, police said.
Harpster, who was wearing a seat belt, received a traffic citation for the crash.
