A State College man armed with a knife and brass knuckles was charged with attempted burglary after police said he tried to break in to a Walker Township residence.
Bryan Ryves was arrested at about 6 p.m. Saturday after he tried to enter a home along Nittany Valley Drive, according to police.
After a resident confronted him outside the home, Ryves fled on foot across state Route 64 to a cornfield. He was apprehended after a state police helicopter was called in to assist in the search.
Ryves was arraigned before District Justice Kelley Gillette-Walker, who set bail at $100,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
