A Howard woman was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of state routes 26 and 150.
Howard Fire Company got the call about the crash at 12:27 p.m., Fire Chief Collin Alterio said. A car with the driver side badly damaged and a truck with a smashed front end sat immobilized on Route 150, blocking the route. Upon arrival, responders found the driver of the car, Lorraine McAulay, 82, of Howard, unresponsive. Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Department, a medic from Mount Nittany Medical Center and state troopers from the Rockview barracks also responded to the crash.
The crash occurred when McAulay turned left onto Route 150 into the path of a truck driven by Dominick Duso, 63, who was driving north on the road, according to police.
McAulay was pronounced dead on site by Deputy Coroner Debra Smeal, according to police. Duso was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center with moderate injuries, police said.
