Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday after a three-car crash on East Branch Road in College Township.
According to police, three vehicles were traveling in a row at about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Branch and Cliffside Drive. When the first vehicle, driven by Doreen Bucha, 52, of Snow Shoe, slowed to turn onto Cliffside, the third vehicle, driven by Lynne Franks, 53, of State College, hit the second vehicle, causing a chain reaction.
Franks’ 5-year-old passenger was evaluated at the scene for abdominal pain and the driver of the second vehicle, Dennis Brown, 46, of State College, said he had head and neck pain from hitting the steering wheel. Both were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Franks and Brown’s vehicles were towed from the scene, police said. Franks was cited for following too closely.
