Five people were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash in College Township.
According to police, the collision took place at about 5 p.m. Friday near the U.S. Route 322 on-ramp on East Park Avenue. Albert Hartsock, 57, of Howard, was traveling along Park when he hit a Centre Area Transportation Authority transit van driven by Colette Rodger, 36, of Philipsburg.
Hartsock said he approached the intersection and passed several cars in the left lane when the van turned in front of him, police said. He hit the right rear area of the van. Rodger said she made a left turn when the light turned green when she was hit.
Hartsock complained of chest pain and was taken to the hospital, police said. Four van passengers were also taken to the hospital complaining of various pains: Margaret Caprio, 47, of Osceola Mills; Eric Malmberg, 24, of Philipsburg; David Josefik, 53, of Philipsburg; and Joseph Hassinger, 47, of Woodland.
