The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Tuesday for Centre County and most of Pennsylvania.
National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Dangelo said the primary threat will be damaging winds, particularly in the afternoon.
A low-pressure area will develop in the Ohio Valley and move up and over Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon, causing storms.
Tuesday could bring about 0.4 inches of rain to State College. The area, as of Sunday, has gotten 6.72 inches of rain, making it the 12th wettest June on record since 1896, according to Penn State meteorology department data.
