2 Mifflintown teens injured in ATV/cow crash

Two 15-year-olds from Mifflintown were injured when the ATV they were riding on Licking Creek Road, in Milford Township, Juniata County, struck a black angus cow that was in the road.
Both teens, who were not identified by police, were thrown from the ATV, which rolled over multiple times and struck a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling east on Licking Creek Road.
The cow was thrown about 30 feet from the point of impact and died.
Both teens were transported to Lewistown Hospital, and one of them was then flown via to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of head trauma. Neither teen was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The operator of the car, Gary Lee Miller Jr., 20, of Mifflintown, was not injured, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said, and they are still looking for the owner of the cow. Anyone with information is urged to contact state police at Lewistown at 320-1010.
